Remember what ideas we discussed on Friday about the similarities between our lives and the lives of characters in literary works. With these thoughts in mind, explain (in one paragraph) what lessons literature can teach us? What do works like The Crucible reveal about the patterns of the human experience.

This is due Wednesday, August 31. Thank you.

Literature can teach us many things. Theres not really a set example that literature can teach us. It mainly just teaches us about life. Works such as The Crucible reveal patterns about life because it shows hardships of a typical life. Works like these also show how people act and react to things, it can also help us realize how lucky we are to have what we have.

Literature can teach us many things such as the wrong in lying and the wrong revange. the Crucible shows these kinds of lesson - abgil been lying to get her revange which caues alot of deaths. when we read a book the book is supost to have a lesson behind the words we read. we sometimes compare our own lives to the lives in the book or literature we have just read. lessons we can learn from a book are crucial to the way see life or deal with problems we are faced with in life. we can have a bad day or have a bullying problem you can go and find a book and get lost in it and your problems can go away.

Literature teaches us about the behaviors of the characters in a story and how events relate to human experience. Works such as the Crucible reminds or teaches us how extreme a person could get to achieved their personal desire. By showing us examples it can also teach us how to handle (or not to handle) situations in a better way. One final thought is that it usually gives the readers moral lessons that they could apply to their daily living.

Literature teaches us about how different people act and react to certain events and just simple life experiences. Every story has a theme, or a lesson about life. The Crucible teaches us that most people, even ones who swear they will never tell a lie, will lie to save themselves or someone they love. When a hardship is afloat, people tend to do just about anything to save themselves whether it's lying or blaming someone else. Literature (usually) takes real life problems and shows the reactions different people will take to avoid them.

Literature expresses and forms universal interest. Just because this person likes sometyhing doesnt mean that another will. In this book its showing you that even the saintest of people arnt 100% true. We all would and will do something for someone we truely care about. To me thats what literaure is all about because it shows you different problems with different reactions and helps you fix them in its own little way.

In every book, there is a meaning behind it. Every book has a lesson behind it, it teaches us things and makes us learn from our mistakes. It shows how people can relate to real life situations. Not everyone believes in the same things, such as staying 100% honest and faithful in a relationship. We all handle things differently and change our mistakes in our own way. Every story has a theme.

the discussion on last friday, about things that stress us in life was were we can revert back to as literature. literature helps us in everyday life. like kiana hesse says its just teaches about life and has patterns. but see the cruicble has these things too. one example is being a liar;just like all the girls in the story. theres a piece of literature that we live with in life. there is no way to stop it and no one will because it's part life.

Literature lets us see people's life situations and how they handle them. We can learn from the good and bad choices that they make. We tend to think that literature is simply reading, but we can actually learn valuable lessons from the characters. The Crucible reminds me that life is not always fair and we need to hear all sides of a story before making a decision about a person.

There is a theme to every book, and it may teach someone a new lesson in life. Some people say it is boring to read, but they are actually getting so much out of reading that one book. What ever it may be. You can always take something from a book. Literature tells us about other people's real life situations, and some other things they maybe stressing over. Some books can show you that you may not have it as bad as you think. The Crucible shows how hard it was back then, and what the people had to go through.

Literature can teach us many things without you really realizing it. You could get reading into a book and start comparing your lifes with a fictional character and think of what you could do to change your life to make it better or worse. In the works it could only take one person to change your life weather or not they are telling the truth. So there are many things that can alter our lives and could have big changes but mostly it's up to you.

Like every book the Crucible contains a lesson of life. Liturature cam teach about love, hatred, dealing with problems, dealing with people, and many other things. Literature can point out the flaws in your life. There are many lessons that literature teaches people, its just trying to point out the lesson. For example: The book the Crucible shows how people are willing to do anything to earn something they want. Like abigail framing Ms. Proctor by stabing herself with a needle. Or that people are so obsessed with money like Reverand Parris, etc. There are many lessons in just the Crucible so there must be thousand of other lessons in literature.

Liturature can teach us a lot of things. Like how people feel when they write, how they want the perspective to be like and how they want the audience to feel. The crucible is a piece of liturature that shows the audience how people are corrupt and that they will believe anything. that back then you didn't need significant proof to be convicted. Some people catch on but not alot pay attention to how it relates to our time today.

Since the crucible was written based on true happenings upon real people, then of course we will be similar. Literature like this teaches us things like the behaviour of those centuries ago and how even though they may have preached strong moral fibre, even they could not always uphold such doings. Lacking things such as certain aspects of a broader range of intelligence and technology, particular events (such as witch hunting) were , when cut to the bone, mere acts of paranoia with far from mere consequences for both innocent and guilty. we have learned much and can look back on such progress, although faith has suffered dearly.

It teaches us to not lie, cheat and to be faithful. There are many different aspects of this story to see. You see how different people/characters handle the different lessons that are trying to be taught. Most literature has a moral or lesson that goes along with it or many.

LIterature acan teach us alot of things. We can learn how others were treated and how they still get treated the same way.We falsely accuse otheres all the time without any evidence. One of those examples is 9/11 we as americans thought that all muslims were terrorists which wasnt the case at all.We need to realize that it was a small group of people amd not the whole society of muslims. We can look back at certain stories from different time periods and compare them to what is happening in the present. Not all things will relate but most of them will.In just about every story there are family and friend disagreements.Who doesnt have those on a daily basis. So we can easily look at literature to help us get a better understanding of what is goin on not only in our lives but also the lives of the people that lived back then.

Whether or not it teaches you something, every book or story has a lesson. Literature doesnt really teach us one main thing. But it tries to show us how life is, was, and what may come to be. The Crucible reveals the patterns of a human life because it shows what has happened in the past, it has shown the bad parts in life and how people got through them.

What do works like The Crucible reveal about the patterns of the human experience.
There are many lessons that literature can teach us. I learned from some that if you do a good thing for someone, you will get good things in return. In one I learned that sometimes if you give someone some money, that person could do something great with it and you had changed someones life, or the world. I also learned from one that if you do something selfish, and lie over and over again, you gunna get caught in the end. Kind of like The Crucible, even though I still dont know yet if Abigail and the girls get caught. But I think that is what this literature is trying to show us. In the world we are in today, people can go to great lengths to get what they want, like when Abigail stuck the needle into her side just to get John.

Works of literature teach many lessons about life. They show us how people react in situations and what their character is as a person. When reading, we are many times able to compare characters to real life people. We understand them as a person and are able to tell how they would react as a person. The Crucible shows that people will take whatever measures necessary to save their lives. Even if this means going against your personal beliefs, like Elizabeth Proctor. This happens in real life all the time. People will panic in situations and go against their morals to save themselves.

Literature can teach us many things. When i read a good store i become a part of the story. I think about what i would do if i were there or if i faced the same issues as the characters. this thinking helps me figure out what my morals & morals are. The crucible teaches me that then & now peo[ple are judjed by what others say about them. Humans have always & will always gossip & some people will believe the gossip.

One thing that can teach us many things isliterture. Whenever someone really gets into a story, they feel like they can relate to characters. A lot of people do face samiliar problems that the characters face. In a way I feel like i can relate to some. Something that's happening today that has always happen is people are getting judjed by what other people are saying. Some maybe good, or some maybe bad. But one thing for sure there always are those people who believe every word that has been said.

All literary pieces teach us valuable lessons; varying from what is right and wrong to, maybe, how to live a life worth living (most all with a central idea based on morals). The Crucibal shows people being greedy, doing whatever they can in order to get what they want, no matter the consequences. People now-a-days do that as well. People lie, cheat, and steal to do it.

When you say literature, you have to understand what a wide range of subjects that covers. Literature is the entire body of writings of a culture. Literature can teach us our better yet imform us and assist us in the understanding of our own and others emotions. Literature can keep us learned in the past successes and mistakes of our past and prepare us for the future. Literature is the very source of our education. As for the crucible, it teaches us maybe of the dangers of wrong and unreasonable accusations. it teaches us that we must be understanding completely of our situation without being close minded. Not being one sided either but taking in and contemplating all view points. Excuse the length I'm trying to summarize.

But I'll stop here.

Literature teaches us about life. It teaches us about life experiences and each story has a theme, or lesson to learn. People react differently to different situations and authors write about these simple situations. In the Crucible, people are greedy, liars, self-centered, and caring. For example, Abigail tries her hardest to keep up her good reputation and blames others for the mess that she has made. Another example would be Elizabeth, who has never lied in her lifetime, lies to try and save her husband's life. Literature is the source of our education. Without it, we would be left out in the dust!

Literature is all around is. It is in story, magazines, and on the news. Literature teaches us a whole deal of things. Example between right and wrong, or how to handle something the right way instead of the wrong way. One example in the story "The Crucible" Mary Warren starts out by doing the right thing, she tells the judge the beginning of the truth then turns around when the girls started to make thigs up to make it look as though Mary is doing witchcraft then she turns around and acks as though they did. Thats a right and wrong situation. Another example is then the Proctors desides to sacrifise themselfs for each other. John Proctors take away his good name in order to save Elizabeths life, she lies for him to keep him out of harms way. For those who are still truthfull that would happen every singal time, lie to save a loved one, or lie to save themselfs.

Literature can teach us different lessons that someone may have experienced at one point in their life. If a story we read talks about different hardships a character has faced and what they did to turn that situation around, then it helps us figure out ways we can approach things or help us avoid some difficult situations. Literature can also help us see what is right or wrong. In "The Crucible" we see Abigail who has made false accusations and has spread lies about others to cover up what she has done. The literature can teach us lying about something we did and blaming it on others doesn't make us a better person or cover up anything. In the end literature can teach us a variety of things whether it be life lesson or not.

Literature can teach us a variety of things. It's amazing how one book can have some many different meanings from person to person. This is because when someone have to read between the lines and compare the story to real life, their life, they get so many different life lessons. For example, in readings like the crucible the main message i get is telling the truth isn't always easy and sometimes doing what's right won't always benefit you, but that doesn't make it anyless right. So it really show the character of a person; alot of people say they would do what's right but when the pressure is on alot of people crack. I admire John Proctor for not cracking, for doing what's right even though he has to die for it.

Also, i think it helps us realize that we had the same problems back then that we do today and we all have our own way of dealing with it. Also, that we aren't alone in our issues. Literature has and always will be a necesary part of human life. It teaches us many lessons all the time. One of the most important is that human's make mistakes and not everyone is honest. This is a reoccuring lesson not only in the crucible but in a lot of literature. No two people act or are the same person. This is why mistakes are constantly made by humans because no one is perfect. The crucible teaches us this because john proctor make the mistake to commit adultery but he confessed and tried to make it better. In almost every story there's a lesson that can be learned, depending on the story. Literature can teach us many things about life, many people learn from reading lterature because they can read a story and use what they've learned in thier own lives. The Crucible is a good example of this because back then they had no idea how the way of things should work, that gave us a good set example not to do what they did in the Crucible to people now. It should also remind us that we should be happy that kind of stuff does'nt happen to us.

Of course we don't hang people accused of witch craft, but do we not hang people that act different then our ways in the US for them acting the way they were raised and there ways of believing. you bet we do. Also there modern people that try to keep there good name just like in the story and also people that judge or that will throw away others life to save there own. The story relates to our own lives alot because some of the same stuff that happened in the story, also occur to us in our everyday lives. A lesson I learned from this story "The Crucible" is that lying will never get you anywhere. It only makes things worse. Lying isn't always that answer. Literature to me is a life lesson, something you learn as you grow. Once you open that book and start reading you get a image in your head of what the story is saying. Wanna know what you do with that image, you use it in life and use it to learn. Literature is the key to becoming a smarter person. In the Crusible there were people being killed just for what they believed in. Believe it or not, in other countries they kill people for their beliefs just like they did along time ago here. This story teaches us real life situations that go on still today. It teaches us just stay true to you and it will be alot better off in the long run.

literaure helps us in life, you can it relate to life, and you realize things as you become older. like in the story they had problems, just as in life you have problems but you can try and do something to fix them. i also think like in the story(john proctor) you should always stand up for what you believe in. literaure helps you also learn cause every story has a moral that usually relates to life.

Literature (usually) takes real life problems and shows the reactions different people will take to avoid them.

literature can teach us alot. Not only does it teach lessons, but you can also learn alot from reading in general. You can learn how people handle different situations, and often find people that are in the same situation as you, read about it, and figure out how to handle things differently.

Literature teaches us many things, from life experiences to history to lessons in love. Literature is important to the human experience because it can teach future generations about life at that time. Literature can mean different things to different people, but everyone can get something out of it.
